Amazon Athena adds support for managing data catalogs using AWS CloudFormation

CloudFormation templates help customers to provision and configure their AWS resources. Athena customers can register their relational as well as non-relational data sources in Athena and use federated queries to query data from the data source. Previously, to register a data source, customers had to either use the Athena console or Athena APIs. With this release, customers can create, update and delete their data sources using the AWS CloudFormation AWS::Athena::DataCatalog resource.
